Current Financial Crisis Masks Biggest Employment Upheaval in US …

It is a serious mistake to see them as expendable, easily replaceable resources, as other retirees may have been in the past. Scalice notes that the job market is tight and expensive and only 44 million replacements for Baby Boomers will be available over the next ten years through career paths and succession plans. This leaves an enormous gap of core competencies, workforce skills and knowledge that cannot be replaced by simply increasing the use of technology to augment the smaller workforce. “Companies need to adjust their retirement policies, benefits, flexible scheduling and training to retain their best qualified people without compromising staff levels or productivity,” Mr. RW Consulting Group is a diversified firm that focuses on all aspects of the impact of Baby Boomer retirements as they relate to potential losses of key talent, knowledge and practical experience.
