Staff who are facing redundancy or who need to find work during the economic downturn have been advised to make use of Milton Keynes Council’s Employment Support Team. The team provide one-to-one career advice retraining tips for writing CVs and interview techniques. Council employment support manager Tina Strutton said: “During this latest recession it is even more important that we offer as much support as possible to anyone who has found themselves out of work. “That’s why Milton Keynes Employment Support delivers a variety of services to residents who are unemployed under threat of redundancy or looking to increase their skills to give them every chance of returning to work quickly. The council is holding an Employment and Training roadshow on Thursday February 26 from 10am to 3pm at 158 Ramsons Avenue Conniburrow. Councillor Vanessa McPake said: “These are tough times for everyone and any help the council can provide to get residents back into work if they have been unfortunate enough to lose their jobs has got to be worthwhile.

Federal extensions are available for people still jobless after the initial 26 weeks.
