“We go from city to city and we have jobs available in that city that day” Eric Wingardner with Monster. The lines are still forming at job fairs across South Florida as the unemployed look for employment. About 800 people turned out for this job fair sponsored by the on-line job site. But many people desperate for work often leave the job fairs without finding employment and feeling frustrated. Still they push on because they have to. This was Kynaston Perreira’s third job fair and still no luck.

After waiting in a line that stretched almost to the Quad UW students enter the HUB for Wednesday?s career fair. Hosted by the UW Career Center the career fair was an opportunity for students seeking employment to meet and talk with various local companies that are currently hiring. Most of the available positions are internships or entry-level with potential for advancement. While the Career Center and the employers in attendance mostly focus on UW students ? graduating seniors in particular ? people from the greater Seattle community attended as well. ?It?s not really open to the public but we haven?t turned away any community members who show up? said Nick Morse UW Career Center communications specialist. ?We haven?t had to ? only about 1 percent of the people who show up are [non-UW].

NY1′s Employment reporter Asa Aarons filed the following report. At the Science Industry and Business Library a New York Public Library branch at Madison Avenue and 34th Street a facility to help the unemployed find jobs is being called “Job Search Central. ” There thousands of job seekers are searching for leads. Available resources include 8000 career-oriented books and 11 full-time workstations with computers employment databases and specialized tracking systems.
