Billings will receive more than $350000 to revitalize the area's summer youth employment program as part of the $900 million which has been allocated to Montana under the new legislation. District 7 Human Resources Development Council in Billings plans to place up to 200 kids into a variety of entry-level jobs with the goal of helping young people prepare for career opportunities. “We have a lot of businesses that are on board right now that are offering employment job sites for the kids to go out and get real career experience and to encourage them to follow their dreams and their career paths” explained HRDC District 7 Director of Community Development Tess Keck. “We make sure to keep them on board and set on their goals to achieve those careers. ” Big Horn Carbon Stillwater Sweetgrass and Yellowstone counties will also be receiving stimulus funds for summer youth programs.

Almost 48 percent of the 560 senior respondents to the 2009 Career Services survey have found full-time employment — a figure similar to those in years past although a decrease from last year.
