There is more attitude around than the 'traditional 'positive / negative attitude. Four questions are all you need if you want to change your attitude. At any given time your attitude is a result of an interaction between your outcomes expectancies and your efficacy beliefs. When these three are congruent and aligned, you have an attitude that serves you well! And it shows. More than it says anything about others! Your attitude tells the world about your self-esteem, self-acceptance as well as your self-affirmation.
It may be a small change, but it alters the internal landscape and engages the mind in a powerful way because it changes attitude. Maybe we can't change the immediate reality of making ends meet as rapidly as we might wish, but we can change our attitude by some imaginative and empowering nomenclature. And with a new attitude, we will do lots more than just survive. However, if it changes our attitude, it can amount to a very big change. After all, if are in this temporary situation anyway, why not make it a transition to something better.
Nobody changes his or her attitude without working at it. The crucial thing I learned from this book is that everything depends upon your attitude, your perception of the situation. I'm here to tell you that you need to work that attitude muscle, just like you do your biceps at the gym. Like exercising your biceps, the attitude muscle needs work everyday. Own your power! One of the reasons is to find someone they'll enjoy working with.
This can only be conveyed in person, by your attitude. Everyone in that room will remember and think very highly of her--not the more experienced, knowledgeable, skilled or talented presenters--because of her attitude. Her enthusiasm was contagious, so the audience greatly enjoyed listening to facts and figures that, presented by someone without her energetic attitude, would've bored them to tears. You know why companies conduct time-consuming, labor-intensive job interviews instead of simply hiring people based on the qualifications presented in their resumes? One of the reasons is to find someone they'll enjoy working with. Who do you enjoy working with? The smart guy who has all the answers but acts superior? The woman who's has the most experience but whines or complains whenever she's asked to do something in a new way? Or the person who always smiles, listens to you, stays positive, friendly and supportive no matter what.
When asking for something at work, most people tend to start their sentences with negative phrase followed by a but and finally ending with the request. Spend some time planning and/or writing what you will say, how you will say it and any anticipated reactions (positive or negative) to your request. It's essential to keep a positive attitude, balanced perspective, and a high level of performance whether or not you get what you want on the job. Even if it's not your desired outcome, still show your appreciation for what you did receive. Once your request has been granted, show your appreciation by saying, thank you.
Smart employers hire for attitude and train for skill. Report only what you know! Don't speculate. Build credibility by not taking sides or gossiping. Psychologists tell us that we see our own faults in others' behavior. Know yourself and what you don't like about yourself, and then deal with it outside of work! Don't project it onto your colleagues.

Concentrate on the positive aspects of your case and be ready to deal with questions relating to any negative aspects. It would be pointless and self-defeating to reveal negative facts which are largely irrelevant and which only serve to highlight weaknesses in your case. Be confident but try not to sound conceited.
Remember, the single most important marketing tool you possess is your attitude. Your attitude begins with what you are telling yourself. Everything will flow, positive or negative, from your outlook. Start crafting an internal dialogue that will portray you as resourceful, determined and optimistic. Finally, the most successful people I know have not had everything fall into their lap.

Every office has that one difficult person to work with, who affects productivity due to a terrible attitude, chronic tardiness, or simply drives everyone else up the wall. Dealing with negative behavior, whether at work or at home, can be solved with three steps. Create consequences or let the natural consequences of his negative behavior occur. In the face of constant criticism, silently take note of what is being said, then read the notes back - instead of actively defending each point.
